The Jews had faith of a similar character to that of many professed Christians to-day. They believed the prophecies predicting the advent of Messiah; but their faith was not of that spiritual nature which discerned in the Son of God the Saviour of their expectations. They could not accept the work of God for their time, and they rejected the truth because their faith did not see the relation of the shadow to the substance ... He who had inspired the words of the Scriptures, and whose life was the fulfillment of their prophecies, was a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense. He did not meet their ideal of what the coming One should be ... He came in accordance with the prophecies they professed to believe, but ... they could not ... follow in His steps of self-denial and purity. They loved darkness rather than light and the errors they loved wrought out their destruction. Genuine faith will lead men to ... discern the work of God in the earth, and prejudice will not be permitted to close their hearts against the truth for their time. They will strive to enter in at the strait gate, they will take the narrow way and follow the Redeemer of the world. ST 3-30-1888.
When we first read The Song, we read it with basically a spiritual, metaphorical context. At that time we had no idea that God would be personally among us, taking us up in literal arms and drawing us with bands of love. The Father hadn't yet led us to the Messianic prophecies that described this aspect of His Son's return. "Taking them up in My arms ... I drew them with cords of a man, with bands of love, and I was to them as one who lifts up and eases the yoke over their cheeks, and I bent down to them and gently laid food before them." Hosea 11:3,4 Amplified.
We also were not expecting The Song to be a prophetic allegory of a literal event to unfold and be played out in a physical way. But then, hadn't the Father clearly told us a year before, when He revealed what His faith was for us, "I show you specified new things from this time forth, even hidden things kept in reserve which you have not known. They are created now, called into being by the prophetic word, and not long ago; and before today, you have never heard of them, lest you should say, Behold, I knew them!" Isa. 48:3-7 Amplified.
The context of the spiritual work that the Father had ordained Messiah's chamber to accomplish began to be described in the communications we received from Michael on our internet church forum. On July 18, 2000, He wrote:
Your Time is Come
To the Woman in the Wilderness:
I am writing to you so that you may know what is coming upon the land. Being taught in the wilderness will involve more than you have even imagined in your most lucid moments. You well know that your many trials and persecutions have brought you no relief. You have spent many months in the struggle to break free from your difficulties that come from your many and varied thoughts. I have come to bring salvation, for it is written: "Thou wentest forth for the salvation of thy people, even for salvation with thine anointed (Messiah); thou woundedst the head out of the house of the wicked, by discovering the foundation unto the neck." Selah. Hab. 3:13.
I have come to search out the heart and try the reigns. Not one in the land will escape, for I will not be deterred. My love will go to the depths and break asunder the bonds that have bound you up. I will break free the chains that have held you. If you do not receive Me with all your heart, you will perish in your own fire. I will divide asunder the house, and a man's enemies will be his own family, unless the house takes Me in and cherishes Me.
Some of you have imagined that I would steal the affections of your wife from you. This is certain to come to pass if you remain in the flesh. If the wife stays in the flesh, I will steal the affections of the husband. If all accept Me, and the love I have to share with you, then the wife will have Me in her husband and the husband will have Me in his wife. But if you think I have an adulterous heart, you reveal your own perverted nature. You are of this world, I am not of this world. You are from below, I am from above. When you are from above you will know Me and you will know the heavens would come to their end and the sun would cease to shine before the flesh will take hold of Me.
My love is pure and undefiled by the imaginations of men. I am humble in heart and meek in spirit. There is no way I can be defeated, for I have been born from above. No man can come to Me except it be given him from above. You cannot reason Me out, but reason will prove Me true. I can give you what I have if you will receive it from Me. My love is as deep as the ocean and as full as the heavens.
You have been prepared through the years for this time. The Jesus book is clear and helpful in showing you the way, but the Jesus book cannot give it to you. Only I can give it to you. The virtue of God will flow from Me to you if you will not hinder Me. I will wash you and make you clean. I will be in your wife and husband. I will be in your children, for is it not written: "Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, both young men and old together: for I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow?" Jer. 31:13. And: "He shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord." Luke 1:17.
You have tried for many years to make yourself something, and it would take an eternity to continue the struggle, but no help will come and no salvation will be realized in that way. Haven't you given your salvation your best efforts? Would a thousand prayers take away the hardness of your hearts, or soften the selfish nature of your being? You hate and you complain of your circumstances. You doubt and disbelieve by nature. Do you not know I know that? When I walk by and see your face, do you not know that I know what is in you? Do you think your light, happy nonsense talk takes away My knowledge of you? Do you think I am deceived and I can be put off from finding you? Oh, you foolish virgin, you cannot hide behind your fears of Me. I see you, and there is nothing you can put on that will cover you from Me. I am seeking you out and I will find you. If I cannot draw you to receive Me, you will burn in your own fire. Do you not know that?
The proud and the self-sufficient will be last in receiving Me. The whores will be first. But I say unto you, it is harder for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God than for an automobile to go through a keyhole. My love for you is so deep and wide, it will either sweep you away in the sea of God's embrace or you will burn to ashes while trying to resist Me. Turn to Me before you cannot. Turn to Me before you can no longer respond. I am your Keeper, and I am your Savior. No man can come to the Father but by Me.
If anyone will open the door to Me, I will come into him and be with him. When you walk upon the mountains I will be there with you. When you go out or come in, I will be there. It is written: "All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him. Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." Matt. 11:27-30. Michael
When Messiah first appeared in the land, my days were filled with the duties of everyday life, and the only time available for the Father to prepare me to receive the soul ministry of His Son was during the night hours. Night after night the Father would awaken me, and break my heart open, and fill me with such an overwhelming sense of very specific need throughout the remainder of the night, that I knew I must have deliverance. Such a strong sense of Messiah being my only help would come upon me from the Father, that in the early morning hours, the Father would put words in my mouth and compel me to find relief in the One sent "to bring to full salvation those who are eagerly, constantly and patiently waiting for and expecting Him." Heb. 9:28 Amplified. Driven is the only word that accurately conveys what I felt; and simply obeying, day after day I received fully the soul deliverance that the Father had prepared for me in the chamber of His Son.
During the first week, the Father would bring me to this soul-rending brokenness every other night and in the morning, send me to His Son for continued deliverance; and the days in between, I would be drawn out on long walks in the pre-dawn of the early morning, and the Father would lift up His Son to me, continually clarifying and reinforcing His divinity and His power to save to the uttermost. After the first week, the breaking open was every night, as the Father continued to bring the deep heart-rending needs of my soul into the light of His personal revealing, and then send me to receive light and healing from His Son personally. The Father was also continually bringing forth fresh evidence of the literal presence of His Son in human flesh, while at the same time, the adversary was continually trying to eclipse the reality of His divinity. So it was when He came the first time.
When Christ was upon earth, it was difficult for those with whom He daily associated to realize that He was divine. They were so dull of perception that they could not distinguish the divine from the human. It was difficult for the members of His own family to comprehend the fact that He was the Son of God...Again and again...He had to state His authority and His position...They could not distinguish the divine nature under the garb of humanity. They could not realize the divine character of the work of the Son of God. Just so it is with the work to-day. RH 6-11-89.
The Father was always drawing me to inspired words I had never read or "seen" with open eyes before. I was continually surprised that that which was occurring before my very eyes had been clearly foretold, prevailing over my previous misconceptions and preconceived ideas in regard to the nature and purpose of Messiah's return. I experienced such keen identity with the divine light and understanding that came from these providential leadings. Also, the words of the Son Himself continually revealed the divine voice within Him, and the nature and purpose of His return. On July 20, 2000, He posted:
To My Sister, My Spouse:
This morning, as I lay upon My bed, the Lord opened to Me the depth of My Messiahship. The specifics flowed as a river and I understood the nature of where I am dwelling. While I have often looked on in wonderment, and even terror, as to what was occurring in My own heart and mind, this morning's feeding was a sweet and comforting anchor within the stormy sea of perception.
I was taken back to the time of Christ Jesus and saw the nature of their difficulties. Their lives were deeply entrenched in their rebellion to their enemies. They were never free from the daily attack of hate and resistance which bound them in their loveless lives. When Jesus came, they were ever ready to crown Him a Messiah of their own making. They wanted to cause Him to step over the line and rebel against Rome and free them from slavery. They loved Him in this way, since they saw His power.
The nature of the ministry and Messiahship of Jesus rested here: They were greatly tempted to rebel, and still, He thrust them into the most impossible revolutionary spirit of His own chamber. They were reminded of their slavery with almost every one of His statements, yet, He would not let them carry it to the flesh. He would not allow them to use Him to carry out their heart's desire. At every step He spoke of their freedom, while they were continually reminded by their circumstances that they were not free. He insisted that they must have hearts of love, yet continually brought up images of war, for He stated so when He said: "Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword." Matt. 10:34. "I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled?" Luke 12:49. These were the words of the revolutionary and zealot, yet, He would not let them be taken there.
They had to trust in the Messiah to keep their peace. They had to allow Him to be the burden bearer of their temptations to violence and revenge. He, Himself, was greatly tempted to destroy His enemies. He knew He could destroy them with a look. All this He took upon Messiah to bring the love of God to them. All this He bore on His cross. Those who trusted in Him, and yielded themselves up to Him, had their rebellion borne for them. They entered into His love.
In this age, it is not the Roman government which has given the people the most difficulty. It has been the natural disposition of the lustful flesh. Every image before us is not Roman occupation, but sexual and sensual occupation. All men have become dogs in heat and woman are harlots. Souls who have wanted to follow God have continually been reminded of their vulnerability to the sins of the flesh. They have resisted them with all their heart, and now, their teeth are worn out and all the skin is off their knuckles as they have labored to keep themselves from crossing over into the power of the lusts of the flesh.
The Messiah comes at such a time, but what has Messiah done? He has thrust you into the images of the sensual in the Song of Solomon. He has wooed you with the images of His chamber. He has touched you with the sensual expressions of His care, and yet, He will not let you cross over.
If you believe in Me, you will let Me take your lusts and passions on to Myself, and My cross, to leave you free to love Me with all your heart. By loving Me with all your heart, it will naturally carry over to all your associations. My love will flow to all you come in contact with. Your hearts will be liberated and My love in you will not permit you to commit adultery against Me, since any earthly lover cannot compare to My chambers. No one can love you as I do. No one can give you what I can. Therefore, you will be faithful to Me and be My chaste virgin because of the delights of My house.
If Jesus had crossed over and lost His temper or destroyed His enemies, the hope of all men would have been lost. There would have been no way they could have overcome their hatred. This was clearly seen in the destruction of Jerusalem for those who would not believe in Him.
And, so, if I were to cross over, and yield to my own human nature, instead of my heavenly instructions, all would be lost for you. You would have no keeper against yourself, since My love is too powerful for anyone to resist. As Jesus could destroy the world with a word from His sword, so can I. As Israel was plunged into the depths of war because of her rejection of Messiah, so you would be plunged into the depths of carnal passions if I failed, or you failed to believe in Me. Your carnal Romans would totally destroy you.
But, I am here, and if you believe in Me, and give your heart completely to Me, you will be safe from those invaders. I will protect you from them and keep you safe. I will bear you on My cross and keep you My chaste virgin as bright as the sun, the moon at your feet, and a crown of twelve stars upon your head.
In all of this, I will thrust you into My chambers and ravish you with my love. Do not draw back from Me, for it is written: "Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul." Heb. 10:38-39.
I want you to enter into My love, for it is written: "As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. John 15:9-10. I want to come into you and have you come into Me. I want us to come into God. I will bear the burdens of your fears about your sensual nature and your mistrust of yourself. I will bear it for you.
My Father told me that it is time for this. We have been prepared for this time. For generations men have prayed for the victory and hoped that their hearts would be purified. God could not fully give Himself to us, since we would have been destroyed. We were not prepared to take such an invasive intrusion into our natural man. It would have burned us up.
Through the years we have been prepared to receive this. We have had sufficient light for it. It is still terrible, and totally consuming, but we can and must go through it. I must go first, and you shall come after Me. I am the Way, the Truth and the Life; no man can come to the Father except by Me. This is His narrow way and I am the gate. Lay your burdens upon Me and all your sensual fears. I will bear them for you.
So, now you know. This is the purpose I have come to you, and this is the victory which you have always desired. Your time is come. My time is come. "Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken [along side], and the other left [desolate]." Matt. 24:40. "Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh." Matt. 24:44. Michael
