| Epilogue - to Wayne Bent's Song of Solomon Commentary
Lost In His Love "The King has brought me into His chamber: I will be glad and rejoice in Thee. I will remember Thy love." Song 1:4 "And they that were ready went in with Him to the marriage." We have truly "gone in" to the marriage. The King of Love has taken us individually into His intimate, private chamber of love. It is an exceedingly precious place, and a very quiet place. The chamber door is shut, and it is only the King of Love embracing His Beloved. The Spirit of the King is so quiet! As I rest in His strong arms of love, and listen to His steady heartbeat, His quiet spirit enters into me, and I know Him. He is completely untroubled by anything. He IS peace. "Come to my quiet heart and learn of me. Meet with Me in My precious and holy chamber. I desire that you stay close that I may hold up your head with my hand and place my arm across your heart. I am full. Eat it all, O beloved." I reply, "I have eaten, O precious Beloved One: and this morning the simple knowing came upon me that the Spirit of Your quiet life has been born within me, never to be interrupted — forever." "And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to His throne." Rev. 12:5 This quiet child-King judges everything the way the King judges it. His scepter will be unbending in the Spirit of His Father — not permitting anything to infringe or encroach upon the reign of His peace. "For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder, [not mine anymore] and His name shall be called, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and of peace there shall be no end, upon the throne and over His kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from the latter time forth, even forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this." Isa. 9:6,7 Amplified O King of Love, I will let You hold my head with Your hand forever — keeping me safely lost from my own thoughts, and quiet in Yours. I will let Your arm remain across my heart — protecting and shielding me in Your great love and keeping care for me. I am content to lean upon Your breast all day long, and hear you speak to me — content to let You ordain and arrange the day while I trust and obey. Lost in Your love and wholly Yours, I'll rest forevermore. "Let the peace, the soul harmony which comes from Christ rule — act as umpire continually in your hearts — deciding and settling with finality all questions that arise in your minds, in that peaceful state to which as members of Christ's one body you were also called to live. And be thankful, appreciative, giving praise to God always. Let the word spoken by Christ the Messiah have its home in your hearts and minds and dwell in you in all its richness."
